Counseling Programs
SAY Program
The SAY program is a year-long mentoring program through NC State University. Each Tuesday afternoon, twelve NC State mentors come to work one-on-one with twelve of our 4th and 5th grade students. Each pair then works throughout the year to build upon personal characteristics such as goal-setting, self-awareness, and self-empowerment.
Bullying Prevention Month
For the month of October, Fuller staff and students will be participating in Bullying Prevention Month. During the morning announcements, I will provide information to the students and faculty about bullying and prevention strategies. During these announcements, I will briefly discuss following topics: the definition of bullying, types of bullying, what data says about bullying, how to handle bullying, and the importance of reporting bullying incidences.
As an entire school, we will also support the World Day of Bullying Prevention and Unity Day in the United States. In addition to this, I will be teaching classroom lessons in every classroom this school year to discuss with students how to prevent, recognize, and/or handle bullying. If you feel that your child may be a bullying victim, please contact myself, your child's teacher, and/or our administrative team.

Giving Tree
The Fuller Elementary Giving Tree is a gift giving program that will provide for our K-5 students who attend Fuller. The goal of this program is to assist families in need with gifts of shirts, shoes, pants, jackets, or shoes for their children over the holiday season.
During the 2015-2016 school year, we were fortunate enough to serve 140 students! I am already looking forward to seeing how many students we are able to serve in the upcoming school year! Thank you to everyone who contributed last school year.

Speakers
In March 2014, Fuller had the privilege of having several NC State students speak to 3rd-5th grade students about perseverance, which was the character trait of the month. The students learned about support systems to utilize in order to overcome obstacles and show perseverance. In addition to this, the students were provided an opportunity to ask questions about goals, future ambitions, and scholarships.
In October 2014, Harlem Globetrotter Hawk Thomas visited our 2nd-4th grade students to discuss the ABCs (Action, Bravery, and Compassion) of Bullying Prevention. The students enjoyed real-life examples of bullying scenarios and participating in a few of the Harlem Globe Trotter classic tricks.
